Ensuring the reliability of measuring the mechanical characteristics of materials using the dynamic instrumented indentation test is achieved by correct processing of the measuring data. In this case, magnetic induction method is used to record the impactor's velocity parameters. This paper presents the key features of the measurement signal and proposes optimal signal filtering methods for subsequently calculating the mechanical properties: hardness and elastic modulus for a St3 steel sample. It has been determined that the low-pass filter cutoff frequency should be in the range of 45…50 kHz.

The paper presents the development of an LED photocolorimeter for the objective determination of the color of light-colored powders. An empirical method for determining CIE XYZ and CIELAB color coordinates is proposed based on the measurement of zone diffuse reflection coefficients instead of the full spectrum analysis. The work applies Lasso regression to select the optimal spectral zones in order to minimize the number of LEDs of different colors.

This paper presents a meta-model for forecasting traffic flow intensity based on a two-level architecture with regularized regression. The proposed model achieved a coefficient of determination R2 = 0.8088 and a mean absolute error MAE = 3.16 veh/min, which outperforms the best individual machine learning models by 6.5 %. A comparative analysis of the results demonstrated the superiority of gradient boosting ensemble algorithms over linear algorithms. The obtained results confirm the practical applicability of the developed algorithm for integration into intelligent transportation systems (ITS).

The article discusses a simulation methodology for assessing the impact of motion parameter estimation quality on the core safety metrics of an aircraft detect and avoid system (DAA), consistent with the requirements of aviation standards. Specifically, a method is proposed for incorporating the horizontal figure of merit (HFOM) accuracy metric into DAA algorithms. The dependencies of key DAA safety metrics on the quality of intruder aircraft motion parameter estimation are obtained experimentally. It is demonstrated that integrating motion estimation quality parameters into DAA algorithms prevents a sharp degradation of safety under large errors. At the same time, a significant increase in the average separation distance between unmanned aircraft is shown.

The article addresses the problem of improving the correctness of design data conversion for multilayer printed circuit boards between engineering software tools. It is shown that direct data transfer may lead to metric distortions, disruption of the layer structure, and loss of connectivity between interconnection objects. A set of technical solutions is proposed, including a nanometer-scale integer representation of design geometry, a compositional description of layers based on positive and negative masks, and adaptive geometry correction of interconnection objects. The considered solutions are aimed at preserving metric accuracy, the order of layer geometry formation, and circuit connectivity during design data conversion between engineering software tools.

The paper presents a method for determining the centroid coordinates of a point object formed by an electro-optical system in the plane of a matrix photodetector device. An analysis of the subject area revealed a limitation of existing approaches and methods, such as the use of simplified point spread function models or the complete omission of such models, which reduces the accuracy of the results. The proposed method is based on the use of a priori information about the actual energy distribution within the point spread function formed by an optical system. The method includes normalization of the signal, selection of the reference pixel with the maximum intensity, formation of a limited search region, and comparison of the measured energy distribution among photosensitive elements with known patterns obtained in advance through direct measurements or simulation. This approach makes it possible to account for the actual (or near-actual) characteristics of the lens and the matrix photodetector device, thereby improving the accuracy of determining the centroid coordinates of a point object.

The article examines the development and current state of state regulation of measurement activities in the Russian Federation. It shows the evolution of approaches to ensuring the uniformity of measurements: from an administrative model based mainly on comprehensive verification of measuring instruments to the legislative regulation established after 1993 and the current stage associated with the constitutional consolidation of the metrological service, standards, reference standards, the metric system and time calculation. Particular attention is paid to distinguishing measurement as a process, a measuring instrument as a technical object, a measurement procedure, and the metrological service as an organizational mechanism for ensuring the reliability of measurement results. The article considers the differences between verification and calibration of measuring instruments, the application of measurement procedures, and possible directions for improving legislation and metrological practice. The feasibility of developing a risk-based approach to confirming the metrological suitability of measuring instruments and clarifying the role of metrological services in the system for ensuring the uniformity of measurements is substantiated.
