Heat-measurement method and measuring instruments of the heat-carrier parameters

In article is considered the possibilities of heat-measurement method of the heat-carrier parameters in the heating systems and devices using heat flux sensors. It is organized a comparative analysis of errors of the measuring instruments are implementing enthalpy and heat-measurement methods.

Eddy current system «BOSON» for quality control of the superconducting wire

Described eddy current system for flaw detection of copper shell superconducting wire with simultaneous measurements of the relationship Cu/S in it. The unit is designed for quality control of the superconducting wire in the process of its production on the enterprises of Russia in accordance with developed by the center of the European Council for nuclear research (CERN) the requirements of the quality assurance plan TANK (large hadron Collider).

Geotechnical monitoring systems. Problems and technical decisions

The variants of temperature measurement organizing for the big objects and soils thermal monitoring as a special case are described in this article. The author evaluated the effect of various factors on the choice of variant temperature measurement organizing and proposed solutions to the problems of thermal monitoring with «Etalon» equipment.

Algorithm of adaptive digital filtering for removing local defects on surface roughness measurements

Paper describes the new digital filtering algorithm for removing the local defects on the measured surface roughness profiles. The benefits of the proposed filtration algorithm in comparison with traditional Gaussian filter are shown.

Synthesis of electric equivalent circuits of wood electrophysical properties at humidity measuring converters design

The mathematical models synthesis technique of wood humidity in the form of electric equivalent circuits according to experimental frequency characteristics is considered. The model in the form of an humidity equivalent circuit simplifies humidity measuring converters design and devices for their calibration.

An instrument for determining the concentration dependence of electric resistance of the alkali metals and their alloys over the whole composition range

A new device for measuring the temperature and concentration dependences of electric resistance (ER) of alkali metals and alloys in the entire composition range (from 0 to 100%) and under high static vacuum conditions by four – zonde potentiometric technique is described. The device has a number advantages over instruments of analogous purposes and allows to plan and realize the experiments for studying of ER of binary and multicomponent systems.

Estimations of parameters of movement of a liquid in a centrifuge

Analytical estimations of parameters of the incompressible viscous liquid moving in the rotating vessel with punched walls are given. Comparison of the received estimations with results of numerical calculations is carried out.

Dynamic processes in high-speed contactless seals

Proof leakage of instrument ball bearing units is considered, the mechanism of loss of leak tightness is described at high angular speeds of rotation of a spindle. The simulation results obtained by sealing process. The received conclusions are actual for instrument ball bearing, electro spindles, grinding heads and other high-speed devices working in the conditions of polluted atmosphere.

Higher professional education in metrology has turned quarter of a century

The paper traces the detailed history of how the higher professional education for engineers-metrologists has originated and evolved in Russia and in former republics of the Soviet Union. Its current status and proposals for improvements in professional training of postgraduate metrologists are analyzed and discussed.
